When nutritionist Danielle Minnebo co-founded health food company Food to Nourish she had three products and made them in the kitchen of her granny-flat.
Now, after significant growth and with the support of a $330,000 Regional Growth Loan from the NSW Government-backed Jobs for NSW, the company has opened a new production facility at West Gosford that will create 27 jobs over four years.
The company, which started out as a kitchen business by co-founders Danielle Minnebo and Natashja Jirwander, now has 43 products stocked in more than 600 stores.
The new facilities at West Gosford will boost production by up to 40 per cent allowing it to expand sales including exports and create 27 jobs for the region over four years.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC said Food to Nourish is a great addition to the Central Coast’s $300 million food and beverage manufacturing industry, contributing to the region’s growing reputation as a quality food production centre.
“Food to Nourish is an Australian company dedicated to producing the most nutrient dense organic wholefood products available,” said Mr MacDonald, who helped open the new centre.
“Food to Nourish had outgrown its old 200 square metre facility and was having to turn down new business due to capacity constraints.
“With the help of Jobs for NSW Mrs Minnebo and Mrs Jirwander have opened a new 600 square metre facility in West Gosford allowing the business to significantly increase production capacity and expand its sales including exports.”
Mrs Minnebo said the new facility will allow her to increase production capacity by up to 40 per cent in the first year alone and focus on overseas expansion.
“We will hire 10 staff immediately and by 2022 we hope to have more than 30 staff. I could never have predicted we would be here six years ago,” Ms Minnebo said.
“Jobs for NSW has been a phenomenal help and we would certainly not have been able to expand at this rate without its fantastic support.
“We aim to be one of Australia’s largest health food producers and are thrilled to be setting up on the Central Coast.”
